Why Join?
train with purpose. compete with confidence.
Our program is built on the principles of the Long-Term Athletic Development (LTAD) model, which emphasizes age-appropriate training, progressive skill development, and a strong foundation in movement and athleticism. Each stage of our training pathway is designed to match an athlete’s physical, mental, and emotional readiness; ensuring they build confidence, master fundamentals, and develop the work ethic needed for long-term success. This approach allows our athletes to grow steadily over time while reducing the risk of injury and burnout.
PROGRAMS & ACTIVITIES
Flying Tiger Athletics offers year-round training designed to develop athletes across all track & field disciplines.
HIGH SCHOOL
Ages: 13-18
The High School Program is designed for serious athletes who are committed to elevating their performance through advanced, structured, and highly technical training. This group focuses on the full development of the high school sprinter, jumper, hurdler, or middle-distance athlete by implementing a progression-based training model that mirrors collegiate-style preparation. Sessions emphasize acceleration, max-velocity mechanics, speed endurance, plyometrics, race modeling, energy-system development, and event-specific technical refinement.
Athletes in this group train with clear performance goals and will compete in high-level indoor and outdoor meets to gain exposure, measure progress, and prepare for postseason competition. This group demands consistency, focus, and accountability. The goal is to maximize athletic potential, build competitive resilience, and prepare athletes to excel at the high school level and beyond.
This program includes progressive weight sessions.

MIDDLE SCHOOL
Ages: 8-13
The Middle School Program is designed for athletes who are ready to take their development to the next level through structured, performance-driven training. This group focuses on refining sprint mechanics, developing speed and power, and introducing athletes to competitive race strategies. Training sessions follow a progressive, age-appropriate plan that includes acceleration work, max-velocity development, technical drills, plyometrics, event-specific skill work, and early strength development using bodyweight and controlled resistance.
Athletes in this group will train with higher expectations for consistency, intensity, and focus. They will participate in competitive meets throughout the season to gain real race experience, evaluate progress, and learn how to compete with confidence. The goal is to bridge the gap between youth fundamentals and high-school level training by cultivating disciplined habits, strong technical understanding, and the competitive mindset needed for success at the next stage of their athletic journey.

Running Shoes (not basketball or casual)
Athletic Clothing
Water Bottle
Spikes (only if coach approved)

FUNDAMENTALS
Ages: 8-13
The Fundamentals Training Group is designed for developing athletes who are new to track & field or still building the foundational skills needed for long-term success in the sport. This group focuses on teaching proper movement mechanics, coordination, posture, sprint technique, and event-specific basics in a supportive, age-appropriate environment. Training sessions emphasize body control, balance, acceleration mechanics, and rhythm while introducing athletes to structured warm-ups, drills, and conditioning routines used by competitive sprinters and jumpers.
Athletes benefit from consistent technical instruction without the pressure of advanced training demands. The goal is to help each athlete gain confidence, improve athleticism, and learn the core principles of speed development that will prepare them for competitive training groups as they grow. Whether an athlete is looking to build general athletic skills or begin their track & field journey, the Fundamentals Training Group provides a strong foundation for future success.
